DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PRODUCTO Yes Sir, I Will is the fifth release in the Crassical Collection, a series of re-mastered, expanded and repackaged Crass albums. Released so far in the Crassical Collection: The Feeding of the Five Thousand, Stations of the Crass, Penis Envy and Christ - The Album. THERE IS NO AUTHORITY BUT YOURSELF. At the beginning of 1982 Crass released their fourth studio album, Christ - The Album. A feeling of revolutionary possibility was in the air and the Peace Movement was growing apace. Crass were at an all time high; record sales were massive, shows were selling out and they had the luxury of taking a whole seven months to perfect Christ - The Album. Wanting to end the album on a positive note, to reflect the growing dissidence toward the government from young workers, trade unions and the groups making up the Peace Movement, the band decided to end the album with a recording of E.P Thomson addressing a recent CND rally: "Looking at you, I know one thing. We can win. We can Win. I want you, I want you to sense your own strength" However, what no-one knew nor expected was that just two months after the release of Christ - The Album, Thatcher, in a bid to boost her floundering poll results, was to take the country to war in the Falklands. Now, against the backdrop of a pointless and vicious war, Christ - The Album, which had been intended as a celebration of their collective strength, seemed depressingly empty and late. The band quickly released a response to Thatcher's decision to launch the Task Force, "Sheep Farming in the Falklands". The record was pressed and slipped into the sleeves of other band's albums, a surprise for the purchaser and a way to avoid a draconian response from the authorities. The band then came back to Southern Studios in March 1983 and in one, intense, forty-five minute recording session, the band's fifth and last studio album Yes Sir, I Will was made. The band chose to forgo the formulaic clichés of punk-rock and instead adopt the improvisational approach of free jazz, in a bid to replicate the desperation they were all feeling at that time. The result is one of the most powerful recordings from Crass. As Penny Rimbaud puts it: "Crass at its most Crass: raw, naked and completely unashamed". "The result might have been unlistenable to many, but for me it presented an authentic sense of the conflict between the immediacy of emotion and the parallel urgent need for reasoned consideration" This two CD package comprises the album, remastered from the original tapes plus the 2002 jazz remix featuring key jazzers Ingrid Laubrock and Julian Siegel. Also included in the package is a 58- page, perfect-bound booklet containing extensive liner notes from Penny Rimbaud and lyrics to all songs, a miniature recreation of the original poster sleeve, two CDs in digi-wallet, all in a cardboard slip-case.
