Davis signed with the major record company after his success at the 1955 Newport Jazz Festival, where he performed a version of Thelonious Monk's 'Round Midnight with the composer. As a bonus, they have added an extra version of "'Round Midnight" by the exact same quintet recorded for the Prestige label a few months later. Includes a comprehensive 12-page booklet.
