Subversive, eccentric and flamboyant, the Bohemians embarked on a quiet revolution that refashioned the way we live our daily lives.They ate garlic and didn't always wash; they painted and danced and didn't care what people thought. They sent their children to co-ed schools; explored homosexuality and Free Love, they were often drunk, broke and hungry but they were rebels.The artistic community in the first half of the twentieth century was engaged in a grand experiment. They re-invented the home, rejecting and questioning all the old rules, in what amounted to a domestic revolution. Creativity entered every aspect of their lives.
